Automotive technician

Automotive Technician – Job Description

An Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently perform repairs while maintaining high quality standards.

Perform accurate diagnostics on vehicles using industry-standard tools and equipment

  • Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, and HVAC systems

  • Conduct routine maintenance services including oil changes, fluid services, inspections, and tune-ups

  • Identify mechanical issues and recommend necessary repairs in a clear and professional manner

  • Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Follow manufacturer specifications and shop procedures for all repairs

  • Document repairs and labor accurately

    Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic procedures

  • Ability to use diagnostic scanners, hand tools, and shop equipment

  • ASE certifications preferred but not required

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong work ethic and reliability

  • Commitment to quality workmanship and safety
